This webinar is reserved for Consortia Presidents and Directors, and is by invitation-only. Contact Vicki McGillin to request an invitation.
How can higher education consortia be prepared to face and respond to membership loss? Four consortium leaders will facilitate a conversation for presidents and directors of member consortia about this important but difficult issue.
Whether member loss happens because of institutional closure or merger, a shift in institutional mission, leadership transition, or even loss of interest, our consortia need to be prepared to face and respond to such a loss. How can you prepare your consortium for possible membership loss? What is the role of the consortium and other member institutions in relation to member institutions at risk? How do we protect our consortia in the face of member loss? Four consortium leaders will facilitate a conversation for presidents and directors of member consortia about this important but difficult issue.
As a confidential leadership conversation about a sensitive topic, this webinar will not be recorded. It will be followed in the Spring by a webinar for all ACL members summarizing themes of the presidents'/directors' conversation, and inviting consortium staff to contribute their perspective and their agency to the topic.
Facilitated by Vicki McGillin (John N. Gardner Institute), the conversation will feature C. Todd Jones (Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio), Deborah Obalil (Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design), Sarah Pfatteicher (Five College Consortium), and Claire Ramsbottom (Colleges of the Fenway).
